Shawn specializes in helping the U.S. Government develop capabilities to neutralize the cybersecurity capabilities of hostile nation-states and criminal threat actors. In recognition of offensive and defensive initiatives, particularly with the U.S. Intelligence Community, Shawn was awarded the 2019 Pinnacle Award for Cybersecurity Industry Executive of the Year by WashingtonExec Magazine.
Shawn currently serves as the Managing Director for Cybersecurity Strategy and Technology at Accenture Federal Services. In this role, he leads the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, innovations, and offerings, that help Federal agencies scale their cyber mission capabilities.

Public initiatives have included:
Co-author of the OpenShift Security Guide, which declassified and documented how the U.S. Intelligence Community and Department of Defense secured their OpenShift/Kubernetes environments;
Consulted with the U.S. Army Cyber School at Fort Gordon on technical training curriculum for defensive and offensive Computer Network Operations (CNO). Additionally, helped infuse Open Organization leadership principles into the culture of Army Cyber School.
Working with the National Security Agency’s Information Assurance Directorate (NSA IAD), founded and commercialized the ComplianceAsCode Project to automate security configuration and compliance analysis.
Collaborated with Lockheed Martin and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) to build cross-domain super computers in support of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and big data analysis missions.

Prior roles include serving as CrowdStrike’s Global Vice President of Solution Architecture, where Shawn led the technical presales organization assisting Global System Integrators, Managed Security Service Providers, and strategic technology partners. Additionally, Shawn was the Chief Security Strategist of Red Hat’s Public Sector organization, where Shawn was the senior-most leader accountable for information assurance of all Red Hat technologies, products, and consulting engagements, to the U.S. Government.
